My days to work on cars are few and far between in the summer because of my work schedule, but I got to wrench a little today. Well, no wrenching really; more like cutting and welding. But anyway...

I'm pretty stoked on this one as it makes progress. Today I got about 3/4 of the way done with the floor, mocked up the master cylinder placement, and shortened the tie rod so it would roll. Since I last posted I got the front suspension done and got the rear ready to bolt in the Armstrong shocks to match the front.

Plus, this is the first time I've bolted on the valve cover and the Webers. I like it WAY better than the two 98s it was going to get.

The '32 driveshaft sitting by the car will be used nearly full-length for exhaust running just below the center of the driver's door and almost to the back tire, following the contour of the body.

The speedster tank will be out back of course.

The dash will house a center-placed 6" 1951 Stewart Warner all-in-one boat gauge. The full face is the tach with 4 small gauges within.

The are Armstrong shocks. There were used on English cars like MGs and Austin Healeys from the early '50s through the, I think, the '80s.

from the begining of the TD in '49 (and maybe a little earlier) to the death of the B in '81...those shocks were in constant use.

That looks like the same tank that I'm running.

You polished the cap, cool, I might do that now :0

BTW, the tank is galvanized, you can strip that grey primer off and leaved it necked if you want.

    Kirk,
Those Offy valve covers tend to hit the head bolts unless you use really thick gaskets or notch the flange. I have one on my 292.

1918/1919 Grant 6. The more I research, the rarer it seems. They were only in business from 1913 to 1922.

We widened it 1.5" (.75 on each side of center) and built a whole new lower section, adding 4" to the height.
