Zach, Thanx 4 the heads up on this project the other day! Man, it looks great! I just know that it is gonna be a great track rod so keep us posted on the project.
thanks everyone chuck, Not a thing wrong with them. I'm still going to be using quite a few. In the essence of 1949, things were still pretty nice though.
That frame is gorgeous. It's a shame to hide it in a belly pan, although I do think the finished product will benefit from one. Very nice work so far.
Looks good Zach. I love that you used an OLD geometry book. Goes to show somethings never change! Looking forward to seeing it when I come out for Hershey!
I'm still kind of a fng (but a member too) so I didn't know much about your work, Zach. Thanks to Ryan for the feature - I went back a read all of your posts in one sitting. Each of your cars proves your understanding of the early hot rod movement. But man, when do you sleep? Oh yeah, you're 25 years old. As many others have said before, just follow your own instincts and you'll do go wherever you desire. I am totally impressed with the RPU body you "threw together" for your buddy. I will attempt the same because I am a big guy and can make it long enough to get down into. Keep'em comin'.
You guys would be amazed at what's in that "Little shop". With what he's got stuffed in that head of his and the pile of parts hiding out back, we are going to see some pretty cool cars coming out of that shop on the hill. Keep at it Zach.
thanks everyone fritztownford....you must read faster then I do...or....do you sleep? thats alot of reading! StevieG....shhhh.....remember....theres nothing here!
Looks great Zach..... Gonna be a neat lil' car..... But a question......will this area be a weak point???? Not knocking ya.....just curious......
Nice - Round tube frame, track nosed, Model A w/ a bellypan! Another build to add to the must follow list. When is the next update?
thanks guys sinister that was my concern when i was laying it out my decision was that since it actually pierces through the other tube it should have ample strength.... another words the 1.25" tube is solid from the kick down to the lower rail besides that....its just bracing...the 2.25 parimeter frame alone was so rediculously stiff it didnt even need the smaller stuff it seemed next update once it rolls with a body sitting on!....
Love the build and the attention to details. More HAMB outlined builds are needed. Thanks for the hard work of keeping us up to date. Jon
Lookin great so far, will follow this one with interest! here is a shot of my chassis for a 1927 T lakes modified currently under construction.
This is going to be a great build. Love the idea. Keep up the good work. It's reminding me of the Leever/Esser/Ruter (Rambler's) roadster which is featured in TRJ #33. Im sure you have read it. 29 A on a tube chassis with an alcohol injected olds.
Good golly....another one of Zach's hot rods I'm gonna want but won't be able to have! This dude really has an eye for nostalgia....and not the fake nostalgia the magazines and tv shows of today have created. Guys like hime make me proud to be a hot rod guy. Thanks Zach.
Zach..........you amace me. Good luck and thanks for always taking the time to share your fun with us. Love your garage. Paul
I like the frame. If you get someone to invest in the car to get it driving you'll double your money! What welder are you using? TP
yep! it does anything and everything.... just have to be creative on very thin and very thick (razor blades and railroad tracks)
