I am about to replace the windshield (and the seal for the back window), in my Ranch Wagon, and need to know how the stainless trim re-installs. Does it mount in the gasket before the windshield is installed, or does it snap/clip/push in after the glass is mounted? Also, same question for rear glass. Thanks

  2. It's been along time but I think trim goes into rubber before glass. When I bought the seals from Dennis Carpenter there were instructions in each package.

I'm stripping a '58 Custom 300 to be media blasted. To remove the front and back glass there are small screws on the sides under a short piece of molding on each side. After removing the screws I was able to pull the mouldings out. This leads me to believe you would install the stainless last.Come on over to www.57fordsforever.com for any '57 questions.

Just did that. You put the rubber on the glass, install the stainless
in the groove except for the corner pieces. Install the glass then the
little screws (windshield only) and then fight the corner pieces.
I have done this more than once.
