This is my old mans T , its been on here before. But I havent seen the car in about 18 months it was on display in a shop for a long time and recently found its way back into its rickety garage.

He doesnt take it out much and even less now that mum has her 33 coupe as a daily driver, and hes busy building another rod.

I was happy to see the car, as this is the Hot Rod I grew up with, its more a museum piece now than anything, but I still love the noise of the poly motor straight out the pipes. Was good to see the old thing again.

Very sweet rod! I have to say, I have never seen edelbrock valve covers for a poly motor. Those must be pretty rare. Anyway, love the car.

That thing is incredible. Can we see more pics? Any build info would be great too.
When those little "T"s look good, they look killer. That one is killer.

Why don't you volunteer to keep the fluids properly circulated for him. You know, drive the wheels off it so it doesn't get all stiff and constipated. You'd be reliving some of your youth and the car would get used instead of parked away. They are meant to be driven. If you did maybe your dad would take a renewed interest and start driving it more himself.

I dont have a lot of pics of the car and the ones that I do probably mostly look the same.

I guess it was just the case that I hadnt seen the car for so long that I had forgotten how much it means to me and how much I enjoy hearing it and seeing it. thats all.

this is the only profile shot I have.

Damn cool car there. The first thing that I also noticed was those valve covers. They've got to be rare!

This is the only other shot I have at the moment showing the rear suspension. chassis is an A body is heavily channelled over it to get that stance.

  21. That last photo still cracks me up every time I see it, tin cans brazed together as chassis stands........

    Sweet, sweet, sweet...

    Cheers,

They're not oil cans , they're beer cans! When Oz started putting beer in cans in the early 60's they had big cans and small cans. The big ones held as much as a longneck bottle and the small ones half as much. The cans were of steel. When Eddie and I were building our cars we used to pick up the big cans along the road and braze 8 together to make jack stands. All the shed visitors reckoned we had a great time making the jack stands but we didn't drink, spent all our money on our cars.
Only problem with them as jack stands you had to be real careful with the jack as they crushed easy.
The big cans didn't last long cos the contents got hot too quick and the small cans took over.
So there you are Preacher, your history lesson for today
