  4. Ok, I read most of all 17 pages of this thread and nobody said anything about a Small Block Chevy?? Too common for ya? I understand. Here's a couple I'd gladly put in my rod.

mostly what was said was "anything but"

neat thread, every so often it gets added to, almost three years running now
lost a few pictures along the way, but a great look back at some old HAMB rides and few names that I haven't seen for a while...

for the sbc crowd, here's mine, slowly coming together..

    oh man, I hear ya..
in one of those moments of indecisiveness I stuck a 394 in the A,
in place of the sbc I had been planning ever since this car was begun...

    now I really don't know

  8. These are my picks. Of course the Novi is really half of this beautiful V-16...

    I'll take both.

The flathead is in the Competition Camshaft Special.

The DFV is just a real nic sounding modern, it is like listening to a Maserati engine on steroids.

  14. Coventry Climax....60's Grand prix V8..as rare as rocking horse shit

one o them Yamaha V8s from the 80s...

Oh yes.....reading a back issue of back street hero's (UK custom bike magazine) and there's a guy who builds really odd engined bikes...like he actually builds the engines too incl a V8 Yamaha bike using one crankcase to base 2 sets of air cooled pot..

    Got to be...yes defiantly..a Tatra aircooled V8 .....

I'm partial to my FE with Tunderbird valvecovers and that oversized aircleaner housing, but that's just me....

For my non-hooded Hot Rod I'd like a 50's Nash, Packard, Studebaker or any odball V8 because I like looking at them. If not one of those I'd like a Ford Y-Block or a Nailhead Buick. For my kustom I want a good running V8.

If i put fresh ice in the cooler i think my V8 can get to about 42 ' degrees before freezing up, I try not to drink and drive.

  27. I agree with nekroman, a Cadillac 472 or 500 like I am running in my 50 Buick man she's a flyer, no substitute for horse power or toque. Rags

The Nailhead I have waiting in the back of my shop for the right pre 40 truck.

My second choice has to be a Hemi
