No such thing as a 'bolt on' part anymore. I needed a small starter for my new engine in the Beater. Paid big $$$ for the only one I could find on the planet. It arrived yesterday. Excitement set in. This thing is gonna run...tonite. Went to bolt it on.....no dice. One of the main mounting holes was off about 3/8". I carefully measured it up and set it in the drill press to fix it. Got it done, got it on, it kicked my ass. I ran my tranny cooler lines and went in for the night. I'm gonna start this beast tonight. just have to throw coolant in it, wire up the generator, install the intake and fuel lines and FIRE IN THE HOLE!! Can't wait to see peoples face when they see what I replace the flathead with.
Excitement is set in again. Man I dig hot rods!

I'm pretty computer retarded. You'll just have to show up at Billetproof, Detroit to see and hear it.

I will make sure to medicate Pete with some PBR and snap some spy photos.... He is right though, that thing is gonna make people scratch their heads, and it looks like it belongs there.

You are braver than I am. Every time I modify a brand new part it takes a shit 2 days later and of course I nullified the warranty with the modification. I hope you have better luck.:D

Maybe.....might put it all together and sell it to finance a family cruiser. We'll see.

I'm sorry to see the Flattie removed. But I also dig this engine. Bigger pics please.

Me too. But I have less in a complete build of this engine than I would if I redid the Flatty again after breaking it....again. This will be fun.

Got it started yesterday. Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run Sat. Sun morning, still in bed, I realized I don't have 70 yr old carbs anymore. I cranked the fuel pressure up to about 8 psi and it ran. Sounds like poo....needs a muffler bad. Cams pretty hard. Now, a couple little 5 cent things and it will drive.

Definately obnoxious sounding, but seems to run like a champ. The neighbors are gonna love you, until it gets muffled a bit.

Man is this thing ornery! If we can figure out the trans problem, it'll be a driver! Ya gotta hear this thing run.....bad...not good bad but just bad.
