I've been wanting this for 2 years now. You're looking at Coker radial wide whitewalls tires, Wheel Vintiques steelies with chrome trim rings and spidercaps. The tires are so much shorter than the truck tires that were on the Ralleys that it dropped the car another 2 or 3 inches. Still have some minor bugs to work out of the set up, but this is what it looks like. It finally feels like this car is mine now.
looks great with the spiders... i was thinking of the same set up for my 57, what size tires did you end up going with?
just do the Poor Mans version of Spiders. Bullet Lug Nuts and and a bush through bullet to cover the axle hole plus wheel kid is making a new version of the old cal custom trim ring to go with the spider, looks nice!!
They are 205/75/15s I didn't think the caps were THAT expensive. Got them brand new off here for 155 shipped. 150 bucks isn't really bank breaking when it accomplishes the look you're going for. It isn't the original paint, though it does look like it. It was actually originally a seafoam car. In the late 70s the owner completely rebuilt it with a 305/th350, black paint(jambs and everything done)and red interior. Now, 30 years later its dilapitated enough again to still look original. Kind of funny. Thanks for the comments guys. I'm really happy with the way it looks. Now it's time to put it in the weeds.
