Man, was he happy! His smile would go around his head if it wasn´t for the ears to stop it!
Last Saturday we met at my place and my buddy Rene and his wife took out their freshly homebuilt 49 Panel Truck for the first time. I had the pleasure to take it for a spin and it really handles very well!

It´s got a Camaro subframe, 307 chevy with 2bbl carb and highway gearing to make a good daily driver.
I really think it´s a bitchin truck and so I thought you guys might be interested in some pics.

    Enjoy

    Chris

Thanks !Yeah, I they are a rare sight over here. This one was brought over here from a Texan junkyard about 10 or 12 years ago with no drivetrain and no interior.

Thanx for posting them. Damn!!!!!! I'm getting old. I should have known it was a Poncho from that front end. Ya don't see many of that year around here and that being there in Germany is like maybe the only one looking at the ratio of that model still running around. KNUX!

Thanks for the kind words guys! Rene had this panel project stored for a couple of years before he started building it about 1 1/2 years ago. His 4 year old son and his wife love cruising in it at least as much as he does.
There are tons of details on this one, like the 59 Olds column , hidden mechanical tailgate opener( nobody ever would find out about that one, hahahaha), stuff like that

Hi Aaron! Last weekend we were meeting at my place in Loizenkirchen, about 100km east of Munich, near Dingolfing, you know, where the BMW-plant is. But there will also be a little car show and get together on June, 2nd in Hunderdorf near Straubing. That´s right next to the A6 between Passau and Regensburg. Weiden is no that far away, would be nice if we could meet!

Whoever did the lettering on the panel wagon has my utmost praise. Excellent work!
The whole machine is beautiful as well.
