belonged to a friend that passed on 2yrs ago.his wife gave me the truck with 2 stipulations...never sell it and she wants a ride when its done.they had it for over 40 yrs.i removed the stock crossmember and added a tube crossmember with a spring perch.stock front axle converted to chevy spindles in the early 70s.extended the wheel base 22" and dropped the front 18".going to channel the cab and chop the top.327 with tunnel ram,magneto,4 speed.the engine will be up in the air with the trans and driveline over the cross member.the rear setup, 57 chevy style rear end, was done in the early 70s just like the dirt cars we were running in tulsa at the time, right down to the right and left hand threaded heims.check out the size of the rear brackets and the thickness.will have no hood, fenders, etc. give me some feed back on what you think.will post pics of the cab soon.

Yep. I gotta say, what you have planned doesn't sound too pretty.

The headlights are the coolest part, in my humble opinion. I'd keep the fenders.

especially since the truck has been in the family for so long.

building this truck without fenders would be like building a chick without tits...

The way I read that he has known the family for some time and helped with the mods a long time ago. Guess he can clarify if he wants to.

    I could be wrong.

thank for all your input.to gv gordon,i got the cab,bed and fenders from under a tree where they sat for thirty years mostly uncovered.no mounts, brackets or anything else.the chassis was done by my late friend and his cousin who just graduated welding school.about 75 lbs of welding rod in the rear end brackets alone.lol.i know it sounds UGLY! but i can see it in my mind and i am only slightly stupid.think you will like it as it goes together.still trying to post construction pics.

p.s. i did remove the stock crossmember and add tube member with suiside front end BUT i mounted it ALL so i can remove it and replace stock crossmember in correct location with little trouble and NOT butcher the frame.
