Good move. You can't be too safe on steering parts.

What? You can't label yourself? Can't be different just like everyone else? Guess you and I will be at the far corner of the parking lot.....

    learned a few lessons tonight

    1. Fuel tank and upper cowl are one piece

    2. If removing fuel tank, do so before you chop the top 6". It took some serious work to get the tank out

    LOOK MOM it steers.....

It took a few hours and a few busted knuckles, but I finally got it placed and welded the bracket in. Looks like I can return about 150.00 in joints I didn't end up using [IMG] .

There is about 1/2" clearance on the DD shaft between the header and the starter [IMG] . That Hemi is strapped in pretty good so I don't think I'm going to ahve any problems

PICS really don't show it, but it is a TIGHT fit

    Thanks...

It's alot easier to build a car when you start with 10K CASH in hand ( Sold Crawler to fund )

As far as time, I'm only getting a few hours in here and there. Just making sure to work on it at least a few hours every weekend. I'm soooo close now I can taste it.

Looking good. I like the hinged dash, definetly better than being bent over backwards looking for a gremlin.

    - 8 gallon air tank / fuel cell
    - red top

Added a few more pieces of sub frame

  15. Is that a combination air tank/fuel cell, or an air tank converted into a fuel cell?

Chopperman, VERY COOL! After reading through this I am thinking on ordering one of those frames also instead building another.

Man I dig your car and have been looking in from time to time on the build.
I just wanna say, please consider using more steel line in the fuel system and get that regulator and lines out of the cockpit.
Todays Unleaded fuel is way hard on rubber fuel lines and the stink is hard to get out of a car.Off your clothes too.LOL
Not to mention that coil right next to it.That would scare the daylights outta me.
Just cause you're so close you can taste it don't cut corners now.

I can see that the lines will be under the floor but I do agree on the hard lines. I consider rubber fuel lines and clear plastic fuel filters just a fire waiting to happen. You have done such a great job with the car so far, please bend up some proper fuel lines and install a metal filter that uses flare or AN fittings.

that fuel pump looks like one of those universal NAPA fuel pumps. if it is, what gph rating is it? i had the best one that NAPA had on my built isuzu 2.0L and it wouldnt keep up with it.

im just sayin, if one of those fuel pumps couldnt keep up with my 2.0L, it aint gonna have a chance against that hemi with the 3x2s.

OK so a few updates :

    - The Fuel tank is a temp ( I have a line on a nice 11 gallon vintage moon tank)
    - Added a cheapie steel fuel filter ( temp )
    - I have a bling red pump, filter, and reg coming ( based on general feedback about the shitty pump I bought )
    - Re-routed fuel line outside of cab

    - Finished the brake lines
    - Mounted seats

    Tomorrow we wire and fire

Well so much for wire and fire...

Sundays are pretty tough for garage time.

I started some of the basic wiring. I got to a point and had to take this pic.
