Dont have a pic, but there was a bearded guy at the FRC open house today that had a very thick Scottish accent. Is that the guy?
Yup, he was there. He was on the side of the road heading to Flyrite's party, with the hood up. He limped it the rest of the way there, and I followed him going 45 on the freeway with the flashers going. His rebuilt alternator was acting up, but he was definitely in the house, with Dougie the Scottish navigator. Be safe, boys.
I hung out with him all weekend. Probably my new favorite buddy! on Friday, I got to the shop and he was there with Elaina and Dougie, preparing to yank the flattie out of the 32- the clutch he had recently installed was having issues, and it wouldn't disengage. the "international dream team" yanked and stabbed the beautiful flattie and had it re-installed in under 5 hours- including about 2 hours drive time in a complete deluge to and from my clutch guys. Class act, all the way! I will likely see him tomorrow to see if I can't help him with the electrical draw he has developed. ( probably in the alternator...he had to have it rebuilt in amarillo. he's alive and well, slightly singed from the rather intense sun this weekend, and Teddy is o.b.k.b. too. I will let him know you were asking!
Aussie Steve helped us out with a lot of parts back when he lived in So Cal....he's one of the coolest guys in the hot rod world.
The Dirty's hung with Steve alot of the whole weekend. He was the last person we said bye too leaving Flyrite. HE ROcks!!!!!
Ok so he was in Texas. Bummer about the car issues. Probably already spent the $40.00 bucks anyway........ Next year dammit I'll be there working on my flathead in the sun...
