Voneyeball gets flaked for Roundup part 1

Voneyeball wanted a little flake action for roundup. We squeezed him in at the shop. Here's a pic of the roof with the windshield, rear window, and trim removed (the right way, not taped off). We took the roof down to metal and worked out some serious lumps from somebody walking on the roof. Then it was blocked 5-6 times



Here's the silver basecoat layed down



The first step of the flake job is completed...early today= spray flake and lots of clear then a sweet oriental candy blue from House of Kolor....then more clear and more sanding and more clear...etc


I'll post more pics later today or tomorrow...off to bed

Ha ha! I always knew the top had been "fixed" but I didn't think it was THAT bad. Apparently, it was caved in so bad that when it was fixed, the dome light area cross brace was replaced.

I've had this car for 8 years now, and basically, I've beat the shit out of it. I've done some little stuff here and there, but the most "major" was the 55 chevy tail lights...

no comments needed from Body Lines, my work isn't up to par.

Now, I'm thinking engine rebuild, interior (gasp) and who knows, maybe it'll be good enough for a feature in the Rodders Journal- OR, I'll just continue to beat the shit out of it. One or the other, I'm positive will happen.

 

Marty, we were busy partying at the Rodeo but there are a lot more pics with the silver flake on it...I'll post up tomorrow. Next is some more clear and then some Oriental Kandy Blue......with some fades......

yep, that thing works great at 3psi...we're in the process of becoming the Central Texas wholesale distributer for Old School Flake. We'll have Dallas on down to Houston including central TX of course...

 

I've always wanted to try one, but couldn't see paying the coin when I don't know how I'd like it. I'll have to ask Tim what he thinks about it next time I see him.

How much flake (ounces) is on that roof? and does the flake buster seem to use more then the convetional method? Looks killer, can't wait to see pics with the Kandy applied.

Looks real good nice and deep with even more clear than that you'll get lost looking into it.
