Austin Park n Hang is A GO for March 12th TONITE!!

Well, the hell week of SXSW is here!! I won't be able to make it tonite until late due to work, but the honorable Zamboni Steve will be taking over hosting duties this evening. Hope everybody can make it out, and if anyone wants to hang late, me and hellonwheels will probably be getting off work around 11:30. I am planning on being there, my kids are at their mama's, and the wife is in ohio. Please keep an eye on me, it has been a long time since I have been anywhere without adult supervision.

 

I had to miss last time...not again! I'll be there rain or shine...anyone with a topless/windowless car need a ride just drop me a line!

I may even wash the Wagon first. (which, if my current curse proves true, guarantees it's untimely explosion.)

 

Dont wash the wagon, we dont need any untimely explosions, besides if you do it WILL rain, and I am going to be 2 wheeling it tonite. That being said, it wouldn't be the first time I got rained on.

 

I might risk driving down there in the new galaxie, even with the questionable distributor , Ill have to get there early so I have room to park it, its been a while since Ive driven a car this big hahaha

 

I put it on the calendar for every other Monday. So now, if your not sure if it's the right Monday, you can check.

Edit: Just got the word the Mrs. buzzard will be joining the party tonight. We may get there a bit early so she can dock her boat.

Aw hell... the skies are telling me it'll be fine... but I'm not sure how much more "patina" I want on the unpainted steel. I'll play it by ear I guess and hope that we won't have rain.

I understand, they do good work, yet speed is not their strong suit.

 

they're the only game in town for rear end stuff...and unfortunately, are well aware of it.

don't get me wrong-they're an excellent bushel of bastards...but yeah, thier "giddyup" seems to be stuck in second.

 

i'll be a first timer tonight if I can make it. anything I should know? Looking forward to meeting some fellow Austin hambers

 

I'd be down to head out there again this week, I'd need a ride though... I wouldn't mind drinking a few more pints though!

I made my own way out, just couldn't drink as much as I'd like to. It was a blast and good talking to everyone!

I'm glad Zamboni Steve will finally be "in charge".

 

I made it out for the first time last night and it a great time. It was good to put faces, names and rides together. A few more times and I will even be able to have total recall on who is who. It was a great turnout, too bad it started to rain because it pretty much cleared out after that. I have to admit it was more than a little spooky riding home on 2 wheels. I really felt for the people who had to make their way home on cheaters. I will see everyone on the 26th.

The only person I remember seeing with a camera was a tourist so I doubt there will be any pictures. I think it policy of what happens at the duck huddle stays at the duck huddle.

 

Great turnout last night guys, fun as always. Nice to meet some first timers, see the regulars and see progress on peoples rides...and the cochran coupe...man that thing just sounds wicked. OH yeah, the cheap pints make it all that more enjoyable...

 

Good time last night - best one yet! Joyce and I finally got the cobwebs out of the Buick... top down until the rainy ride home... and we had fun BS'ing with everyone.

 

Definitely best one yet - lots of new cars and great people. Worth risking the rain, that's for sure...

 

Sounds like I missed a great night. Thanks to everyone for coming out, hope to meet you new guys next time. There were a couple of die hards still there (thanks guys) by the time I made it from work, so I guess I didn't totally miss out. Anyway, see y'all next time. Mark

 

It was a fun time, sorry my new galaxie smoked out the patio when I started it up, looks like I need some valve work.
