I've been working on this since early February, but have wanted to bag the car for a long time. I sold the daily driver I never should have bought, got a truck, and finally had some extra cash and no more car payment. So I spent the extra dough on front and rear kits from Air Ride Technologies, got my tank, valves, switches, compressor, lines etc. from suicide doors.com, and got all new bushings, tierod ends, and ball joints for the front end. The car had also needed a new front bumper desperately since I've had it. So I sent mine out for straightening and rechrome. Now ther car is back together and ready for Austin.

Great job with the bag setup. Love the skinny whites and rims. Low and Slow! or Aired up, both great looks.

    Thanks guys!

It rides great. Like the potholes aren't even there...

Bob - The Buick drum project is gonna take some more work. I may get it done eventually but I havn't figured it all out yet.

Cadylak....thanks for the tip. Looks like it's a '49 Buick.

    Nice!

Did you smoothe the hood? I don't see any O-L-D-S-M-O-B-I-L-E letters. And how about that grille? Almost gives the car more of a Buick look.

Here's mine....about as stock as you can get. 1964 F-85 base model "standard trim" with V-6 and 3 speed column shift manual transmission. Must have been the cheapest Olds on the lot that year.

I've got a 330 V-8 and a Muncie M-20 4 speed to replace the original engine and trans, but since it's currently the only "cruiser" I have that's not scattered into a thousand pieces, I'm not in a big hurry to tackle the swap.

    Fiditer,
I've got a 62 Dynamic 88 that I want to bag eventually. Are the suspension components and frame all the same from 61-64. What AirRide kit did you get. What is involved. is it just shock relocation up front and bag in rear?
    Here is my plan

Hell Yeah.. Looks great.. not to mention that the new bumper really really helps.

I think by now the single handle thing should just stay... it could be your signature for future cars.. haha

    Thanks again fellas.

John56h - Nice car! Drop a 455 in it, would make a killer sleeper. Most of the reason I ended up getting this car is because my dad used to have a '64 F-85. It was a V6 auto car originally, and a sedan like yours. He put a 350 and a th400 in it. I've got the same combo in mine now.

I did shave the hood letters, fender emblems, and rocker panel trim.

And the passenger door handle! :D :D :D

Natas - I'm pretty sure your car has the same basic chassis as an Impala or Catalina. The suspension components on those are the same through '64, but that doesn't include '64 A-bodies. My car shares the chassis with '64-72 chevelles, skylarks, and lemans'. It is the same design though, and you will need to relocate your shocks. My relocated shocks do not interfere with the turning radius at all, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. I got my 2" dropped spindles from Classic Performance Products. They accept '78 Malibu rotors and mid '80's S-10 calipers, which I got at the local parts house.

Here's another I have. Bought it in 1985 (it was my first car). It's been in storage since 1989 when the rearend let go. It's a 330 V-8 automatic.

    [IMG][IMG]

The convertible is my brother's 1965 Cutlass. It's been undergoing restoration for over ten years. We work slow...but mainly because we waste too much time working on race cars, one of which is a 65 F-85:

    [IMG][IMG]

We built it in 1990 and it's raced every year since. It's getting a bit ragged...almost time to re-skin it. Don't worry we always use sheet metal that's too far gone for a street car.
