Any of you clowns actually BUILDING something???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hatch, Feb 11, 2007.

  1. I haven't done much, since my ass is in a different gear, damn, I hate when that happens.

  2. I will soon be all over this, like white on rice.

  3. Here's a couple of pics, some mock-up stuff. Prior to the 4" Dago drop tube install. We cheated & poor boy'd it by removing half the springs in the pack.

I finally got a roof in my supercab F-1 that won't oilcan. I used the raised section off of an extra hood for the center section on the roof.

Against my better judgment I put the Chrysler up for sale to finance my other cars. Somebody please buy it so I can get some more parts and start working on my T again!

First I put a strip of 2 inch masking tape down the center , layed out my pattern. Once I got one I was happy with I started in with the drill working my way up to a 3/8 , thats the pilot size i needed for a 7/8 greenlee punch, 7/8 its the pilot size I needed for a 2,1/2 greenlee punch. the puch is basically a punch and die with a bolt in it that puches metal as you tighten the bolt. they are kinda pricey , but I borrowed mine. Eastwood has some that are similar. Sorry for not takin more pics, but I had just picked up my kid and I was tryin to get it done while he was doin his homework, it took about 40 mins to punch em with the impact wrench Picture 003 (Large).jpg

Put in a new subframe of 1" box tubing. Cut and bolted in 2 sections of 1/2" expanded steel sheet for a floorpan (I love that you can see the ground flying by underneath you), and painted a barber pole stripe on the driveshaft since you can watch it spin now.

Thank you - I'm hopeful I can find someone locally that will allow me to borrow some punches.

Yep, I brought the wife and kids in my wife's 66 Pickup and I brought the '29. We make it out there once or twice a month. I like that it is extremely casual. Did you have a car down there?

I had hand surgery last week, so I've been pretty useless. Started going stir crazy thsi week, so I bought some of those disposable blue rubber shop gloves at Autozone and covered the bum hand and did a little light wrenching with the good hand. The stitches come out Monday and the hand should be back at full strength in another week or two. I'm 90% complete on my 302 HO build and will get back on that next week.
