What Color of Flames on a Yellow Car?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by GotRust, Feb 17, 2007.

  1. I am repainting the '39 back to yellow and my gf suggested a flame paint job. What a gal how did I get so lucky?

Does anyone have any pics of flames on a yellow car or any ideas about what colors would look good with the yellow?

I have done a search here and found a few but I would like to see more.

I have hopefully added pics. I will also be changing the hood to a full hood. Why you ask. . . cutting the sides off removes the latches. I am tired of using bungies.

I have added pics of the car if somone would like to photoshop some flames or scallops.

    Thanks!

i was just searching the net and thats a tough one. The only one I found was regular orange flames and it looked ok. What about black or white seaweed flames?

    The original traditional scallop style..
And the best color combo with yellow
    Interpret it on the car.

I'd say blue and green myself with maybe a touch of orange on the tips.

Darker blue, w/ red stripe, or ghost it with a light orange.

My dad's 40 Dodge is yellow with purple flames. Defiantly not traditional though. Sorry I don't have any good pics of it.

  19. I have added pics of the car as it is now if anyone would care to photoshop it.

    Thanks

What about this? This car is close to the same color and I like the flames.

That looks pretty sharp, maybe a tad less flames would look better.

I think sublime green flames with black outline would look really good. But thats my twisted opinion..
