SBC powered black Model A with red wheels.....KILLER

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by hatch, Feb 19, 2007.

  1. yes the car is perfect. And yes Tim knows his hotrods and customs. He has the knack of knowing what looks perfect and what it takes to make it that way. Oh, and he's a hell of a nice guy.

It's been said in the Real Estate racket it's all about location. In the hot rod racket, it's all about stance! Nice ride! The engine/wheel color co-ordination really sets it off in my opinion!

  8. Congrats on the car, since your mentioning details, what was the rear tyre, a 7.50/16? what sort of dimensions on the chop?

As already mentioned, love the detail, and the elequent execution & stance.

    Cheers,

    Beautiful car.

The darker red definitely sets the tone on that car, and it would NOT have the same feel with a straight raw red.

I was looking closely at all the additional pics especially the ones around the firewall. The builder is using the stock A gas tank with the little chevy engine including sediment bowl without cutting up the fire wall.

Did he elongate the frame to compensate for the bellhousing??? This is exactly what I am trying to do with my 31 coupe. I want to keep the original firewall intact best I can and use the original gas tank as well.

Any knowledge is more than greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Let's see here - the chassis is all original '32, not lengthened. The rear tires are 7.50x16 'stones. The chop is 4 in and 4 1/2 give or take a little. The wire looms suck, but haven't found a good cloth covering solution for a wire loom yet, and quite honestly haven't much touched it since July - have been busy working on the 'next ones', gathering parts and a few new projects have followed me home in the last year. Got some fun stuff coming down the pike, I get bored easy!
Thanks for the kind words about the Black Bomber - kind of makes a guy feel warm and fuzzy. The car is super simple, nuttin fancy, but I think simplicity is what works most often. I will try and get a couple of pics of the interior and post them if it isn't raining too much this weekend! If anyone is coming down or up or over to the Portland Roadster Show this coming week it will be there. Find me and say hey. Tim :)

This car is absolutely outstanding- like someone else said this kind of perfection doesn't happen by accident.
