My lovely wife is a wonderful artist and she wants to 'do' something when we are at shows and gatherings. she doesn't want to do pin stripping since there are so many already doing that.
Since she is so gifted, I gave her the idea of painting pinups on people's cars.
Here is a small sample of her work, taken from vintage calendars.
The lady on the blue background is nearly life size and adorns my garage. The lady in the red swimsuit is on my heater box in my '54 Chevy truck. The last one is on a board that will be mounted to a friend's backyard shed.
Enjoy and if you see me at a show, know that my wife will be around looking for something to paint...

    Raven,

Wow is right. Those look good enough for me to make a trip back to the 'ol home town in the '39 to get a little sample of her work!!

She does great work and I would like her to paint on the dash of my 37 chevy p/u if you were a little closer. Jeff

I really wanted to go to the drive-in show, but I will probably have to work that weekend.
We will be at the drags in August and maybe at Dewey, Ok in early May. That trip is yet unfunded, if you know what I mean.

Pops: Stop on by. We would love to have you.

    Sodas38,
That's why I call her my better half.

    Richard D,
We can't make the roundup this year. I really wish we could. I'd love to go to that. As far as a guesstimate on a glovebox door, I would think in the $50-65 range depending on what it was, but she would be the best person to ask, not me.

    53sled,
Something like that would 'make' your sled...

"The last one is on a board that will be mounted to a friend's backyard shed"... That would have to be one nice shed.

    Nice work.

Is she going to be a regular on the Friday Art Show?

Only if I bring the images in. That means I have to shoot it then remember to bring it in on my jump drive.

The one with the blue background was on my shed at our last house. I told the realator that it wasn't included with the house. :)

Actually it IS a George Petty -the other ones ARE Vargas, Still excellent paint technique and an excellent interpretation of the originals -

    R,

How good is she? Could she take an actual photo of the Mrs. and make a Petty/Vargas type shot and have the facial features resemble my wife? That would be kind of cool.

If so I have a glove box door from my 54 truck I would like to bring to the swap on Saturday. If I can find it! It's in pieces awaiting reassembly.

    Her work is awesome!

Her talent is stunning, I guess if ever we can get to a show or send something small over for her to work on, Regards Chris.
