35 Chevy coach. I was also in it when it was rear ended and totaled a few months later. It sat behind the barn for years, I played in it as a kid. It was cut up for scrap when I was about 10

I rode home from the hospital (1979) in a '69 Mustang convertible, but my most fond early memories are riding in my dad's '64 Mercury Comet Cyclone 289/4-speed. Man, I'd love to have one of those!!

1948, was a '34 Ford 5 window coupe. Came home from the hospital after being born. All the transportation my parents had, of course it was only 14 yrs old @ the time. All that is left of it are pictures I have with me being held beside it as a baby. In the early '50s my dad took it apart made a trailer from the frame, scrapped the rest. Would love to have it today.

1941 Dodge sedan. Pop bought it new in '41 before he went in the army for the war (the big one - WWII). Traded it in on a shoebox Ford in 1952.

I recall my dad saying that when him and my mom got married he had a 2 door 1955 Pontiac.

Seeing as how I was born 7 months later, I'd say that was it. First I remember is a 1959 Plymouth Fury.

'56 Austin Healey 100. It was my uncle's builder. We did some back country hot laps - now windshield, no seats - total blast!

That ride hooked me on roadsters.

A 36 coupe like the one in my avitar. Guess that's why I have always liked 36 Fords. Plus my first car was a 36 Ford 4 door that smoked so bad you had to hang out the window to catch a breath of fresh air. I remember putting a bycycle inner tube on the rear breather to try and make the smoke go under the car...didn't work tho.

  18. I came home from the Hospital in my dads '57 Chrysler 300,convertable. Black, red interior, white top. I know the guy who bought it from my dad,but it's about 300-500K now! He's owned it since 1961,and trailers it everywhere. Maybe 15K miles on it. He's got to be about 90,and told me he is leaving it to his grandson. He takes it to all the Mopar shows, and sells posters of it for $5. I would love to have that car. My mom made him sell it and buy a '58 Newyorker,4dr.

First ride was in my Dads '50 Merc. two door, the last two door car he owned, after that it was station wagons. I rode in a seat that hung over the front seat with large hooks. I have a picture of me hanging on the outside of the door in that seat. Luckily the car was parked!!!!

Not really the first car I rode in but the first Hot Rod, I grew up at Fort Rucker Alabama in the 50's and I use to ride my bike to the GI's hobby shop every Saturday morning and watch the GI's working on their stuff, i was spell bound watching the guys working on their old Hot rods , when one day this GI ask if i wanted to go for a ride . I was probably 8 years old and climbed into his 32 roadster, flathead powered and I was hooked for life. It was koolest ride i had ever taken. I raced home to tell my dad that a GI had taken me for a ride in his Hot Rod and he said, "Son, don't ever get into one of those thing again" he just didn't tell me when I had to stop, so here about 50 years later I'm still doing it. I was hooked for life. Went home ,painted my letters on my bike tires with white model paint, talked him into ordering a fox tail from J.C. Whitney's for my bike, and its been down hill from there.... What a great life it has been. Now my son the "gasserkid" is following in my foot steps and will be able to some day tell the stories of his first ride , when he was a kid riding in one of my Hot Rods. Or better yet, his son Jackson, telling stories about rideing in one of Grandpas Hot Rods. What a great life it is......

As far as I know, my old man was still driving a '36 or '37 LaSalle when I was born. Right after that he graduated college and got a good job, bought a '50 Ford 4-dr for the drive to Cupertino, CA. One of my first memories of it was him putting in a boneyard tranny in the back yard in Indiana. I also remember when it was time for that to go, he was torn between a '53 Olds, a '52 Nash, and some Plymouth. He ended up with the Olds, a really nice car that lasted til '61, when he bought my uncle's '58 BelAire 4-dr, with 348 PowerPak and PG. That became my first car.

I was brought home in a Ford Cortina MK1 1500 DL, 2 door. White with a red letherete interior.

I've always had a love for those small UK cars.
I my eyes one of the best looking European made Fords ever.
