I'm using AutoCAD 2007 in 3D. I want to use the Chevy engine model that Brianangus posted. His is a Solidworks file and I can't open it directly. I've found a way to convert .SAT files to .dwg.

If you open a Solidworks file in Inventer, you can save it as a AutoCAD 2007 solid block. I saved the following from a CAD forum.

Q: How to convert an Inventor part or assembly to an AutoCAD 3D block?

A: For simple conversion of Autodesk Inventor 3D models to DWG blocks use the function Application > AEC Exchange > Save as DWG solids (make sure the module is loaded - Tools > Add-ons: "Autodesk AEC Exchange").
On DWG export of your parts you can choose the AutoCAD 2007 format or 2006 (2004) format. In AutoCAD , the model will be represented by a solid block

Please PM me for my e-mail address. Thanks!
