My shitty suggestion would be to take the Amtrak to downtown and try to get a ride from there, I'm in the same position you are in intill May so I feel your pain on getting around and it sucks!!

my plan was to go up saturday at whatever time is convinient for my ride, beggers cant be choosers.

 

I'll PM you my number and PM me yours if you get into downtown on the Amtrak and it's around the time I'm going with the crew I'm going with (not sure what time yet) I'll pick you up from the Amtrak so you can avoid the Cab fare.
