Lownload 'AdAware' from Lavasoft, it's free and it'll scan your HD for little nasties that can slow things down... it's not an anti-virus thing, but it'll usually find a lot of crap...

Delete all cookies and temporary files.

Then restart in Safe Mode,run Spybot ,Ad-Aware,and MRU Blaster.
Delete everything they find.

Then run Defrag.

AKA Crap Cleaner works great, cleans up cookies, adware, your search and a bunch of other stuff, and like he said there is no adware or other crap that loads with it

 

1 800 geeks, worked for me today. Couldn't hurt to unplug modem power and router power for a few minutes and then restart.

 

Don't forget a copy of SpyBot Search and Destroy - that should cure what ails ya!
