here's the pt cruiser gold (inca gold) just basecoat looked good over a black base, but over a brighter base would be nicer..maybe white base or silver?

  3. You may want to look at some engine colors... Seymour has a universal engine gold that looks a lot like Poteet's truck.

Bob, let me make a phone call to find out the color. My buddy Dave painted it. The picture of it is in his driveway. If he didn't go to Back the 50's i will find out Friday.

What I've found when spraying gold, it that a gold like 1lows buick will shoot great over black. However, the pt cruiser gold needs to be shot over a bright yellow base unless you like wetsanding money into the drain. It is just designed that way.

What about Lee Pratt's gold 40 coupe?

Most golds goes towards green or brown, which isnt as cool golds that goes towards yellow, -like Pagan Gold. Looks killer against white interior, whitewalls and chrome.
    Glens paint looks good.

    I like the truck, though.

It is HOK lime gold pearl with HOK large gold flake f17 over the top with clear. That Volvo saphron color mentioned above is a great color if you want a basecoat/clearcoat application.

In flourescent light it picks up a little green like a mountain dew color.

I didnt know what it would like I just picked up a gun and sprayed it.

According to the Rod & Custom feature on George Poteet's truck in the Feb '06 issue the color is Dupont Pacific Gold.

  21. Get over to your local Dupont paint store and ask them to let you see their color chip charting book. This book is broken down into color sections : blue ,green .red , ect . Each section is then broken across the color spectrum (ex. gold from green to red and hue from light to dark, metallics and pearls, has to be at least 100+ colors per section) in ever so slight degrees of change. This book is a key part of their color matching system and should provide a easier way to come to a color decision. You really need a formula or color number when you chose a color , using a color name is just way to vague to get the correct formula nailed down. If you decide to go this route make sure to shoot a 2'x2' test panel before commiting to the color because color really changes as it covers a larger area.

the new GTO colour is real nice but dont paint it that colour as your new GTO is an Austalian built car and weve had that colour over here for about 5 years now and every dickhead out there is painting their cars that colour and it is that distinctive that everyone knows youve just ripped off a Holden colour and once you know what car its off it kind of looses its mistique and looks a bit tryhard!,ill be suprised if Tiger Mica doesnt really take off once there is more of the gold GTOs on the road, but i dont think its a true gold I think that 40 pu is a real nice gold id go that way ,but im also colourblind lol!although i have seen Mica gold sprayed over straight orange base and it looks nuclear its that bright its not funny
