Over the river and through the woods and up a steep, steep hill with lots of mud.
    This is what we found...

Looks like your set for projects for the next decade or so.

Are these on private or public land? They look unbelievably solid. I'll take the grill from the 37ish ford truck if you’re sending out Christmas presents!

Rumor has it.. Vermont. They were driven there 40 years ago and parked. There is a caravan heading there now. I hope to be going and helping drag more home with them tomorrow.

One of the guys heard about them from a friend. They are taking everything and anything. What you can't tell is that ground, with a few days of rain, then a little snow plus all the leaves is like walking on bacon grease. It's taking some pretty good old yankee inginuity to pull them out and up the hill.

shouldnt' be too hard to get them out if you go prepared. bring a long enough length of steel cable to go from the road to the cars and use a block and tackle from a tree to get the angles you want to pull from. clear the path with a chainsaw and pull the cable with a truck.

I'm jealous! I've posted my two different "woods finds" threads in the past couple months but nothing in that nice of shape. Good work!

This stuff was found by a "friend of a friend" who bought property near the hiding spot. I don't know how he spotted these as they're on private property, way off the road on the top of a hill. I couldn't even begin to tell you where I was, as they blindfolded me before we got there. The sad part bout all these cars is the owner DROVE them to their final resting spot. He still has the KEYS, like he was going to go back and drive 'em. He said he paid $100 for the woody and drove it a few years and then just parked it in the woods. There's not much left anymore, the wood is completely gone and the frame is rotted right in half. Anyhow, this wasn't my deal. I got to ride shotgun and take some nice pictures.

Wow, I wonder how much he wants for the Caprice! :D

HELL OF A SCORE. Not much left of the woodie, but cubic money will get it in fine shape.

Hope you guys know the real owner(s) of the cars and aren't just taking them off the land. :)

Look at the pictures. The gentleman in the checked vest is the real owner.

Oh and the Caprice had a 396 3spd on the column :D

  26. woody people sell the odd brackets and stuff for good money. The wood don't matter. Great find. :D

    Ha!

I was just going to tell you to pop the hood on that 69 before you leave. A lot of the 4 doors from that year had big blocks. Lots of 427's that year.

And that 40 woody is giving me some "wood" of my own.

Look all around the woodie for any brackets/hardware that might be on the ground. Very important!
