Trade dillema, 54 Chevy vs 50 Ford

You might as well trade for a dodge if you can't decide on one of those cars. Had my 50 ford since 73. My dad had it before I did and his brother first (in 55). And no, they are not all the same and NOT everyone has had one. On a lighter note I got a 54 chevy grill in my
shoe box. Use what suits you.

shoebox and have never turned my eyes away from a sweet
chevy . Especially a 54 , there like a hot chick all diferent years
and colors but nice and with potential all the same .

I like the lines of the Ford Better. Just my opnion.

Why not use your own opnion and pick one that makes YOU happy?

 

as most have said its up to me, thats why i cant decide , i like em both! But im swaying toward the 54...

 

Trade, make your pops happy and at some point you'll own them both.

 

I like just about anything pre 1955 whether it be a ford, chevy or a mopar product. I sold my 53 Chevy 210 club coupe to buy a 1950 Ford tudor sedan. I don't regret it. The 53/54 are among my favorites though.

My favorite movie lol, that's why I got my 1950 Ford. I originally had intentions on building a Thunder Road 50 clone.

It really boils down to what your personal preference is.

I have a '53 Chevy, that I like...but if I was offered a '50 Ford, I would go for it, no matter 6 or 8 cyl. Please keep us posted and, yes we all love to see pics of them both !

If the Ford was a coupe, I'd do it. Otherwise I'd go the Chevy route. I've had 3 -54's and my current is a 53 COUPE. LOVE em' Lots of parts available.

I'm a chevy man. I've owned a 54 chevy.

I say go with the ford. Waaaaaaay cooler.

 

I've got a 4 door 54 and it is still cooler than the Ford.

What do you want and why does your dad want to trade?
Both cool cars, I have a 54 Chevy and love it, but maybe you should make your dad happy, may pay off down the road ... he ... he ... sorry not much help.

I think I would go with the Chevy, also like the Ford though... Both cars are cool, but think the Chevy is a bit more "brutal" when customized than the Ford...

 

Ford would have more appeal to me, Chevies were big and bulby looking. Customized I like the Ford better as well. Flathead would be a plus, Stovebolts can be cool but the flathead would be cooler if that was the engine. My opinion for what its worth.
