I got my 1930 A roadster body, frame, flathead and lots of other parts from a farm about 60 miles north of my house. My 1931 Tudor body was in the back of a guy's truck less than five minutes from my front door.

Drove about 90 miles to look at a '47 coupe (turned out to be an incomplete collection of holes held together with rust) and on the way back home, stumbled across one 50 miles from the house and the guy included delivering it on his flatbed hauler that afternoon.

I drove about 20 hours total (Nashville to northern Ohio) to get my Model A cab from Hamber 31pickmeup.

It always seems what you're looking for is on the other end of the world.

I do feel for you 'foreign' guys though.

it's good to live in the San francisco bay area. I think I went about 60 miles one way one time to get a 47 plymouth. the 57 I just got was in the shop behind mine. we pushed it about 200 feet around the building.

    boy was I exhausted.

Well, had a rusty pos 1953 chevrolet sedan hauled from Washington state to North Carolina. Bought an engine from Unclescooby in In. Race truck in Colorado, race truck in Rapid City SD, Land cruiser truck from norcal via Alabama.

A friend of mine gave me a t-shirt that say "I like to get drunk and buy stuff on ebay" It is kind of true, I guess.

Cross a few state lines to haul home a lowly 2.8 Chevy V6 sometime!! :D

Ha Ha Ha...seriously, though...Kenny (Choprods) is one very cool host...he treated us like family after we arrived in deep Missouri from Michigan to nab that little 60 degree Chevy V6 from him!!!

I have always bought my cars locally, but on Monday or Tuesday I will make a 400 Mi. round trip to pick up a new project. I also went to look at it and put a deposit on it so I will have 800 Mi. in it.
Time goes fast when you are having fun.

I drove from Bristol to Norwich to pick up a 38 Morris once, doesn't look far on a map but took about 16 hours for the round trip.
Both my cars came from the US (Fort Worth,Texas and Gypsum,Kansas), but I didn't collect either of them so I guess they don't count?! :)

round trip 1400 miles for a Model T 2dr sedan. Drove up loaded the T body and drove back. Stopped once for food. rest of the stops were for fuel and to check out a Hot Rod shop in the middle of a sleepy town in Kansas.

I went from Portland, TN to Lisbon, North Dakota to get a 30 Model A sedan body and a 34 Chevy 2dr sedan. It was a very very long 2400 mile total trip. We left home at midnight thursday drove straight through 1170 miles got there at 8:00 friday night. Spent the night and got up at 6:00 saturday morning. Had to pull the Model A body off the frame and load the 34 Chevy. Left at 11:00 saturday morning and headed home. Got home at about 1:00 sunday afternoon. About $500 in Diesel, blew out both spare tires I took for the trailer and had to stop and buy another spare at Wal Mart in St. Louis. It was worth every bit of it.
