I'm still kind of new to all this. I've been into circle track racing since I was eight. However this year my racecar collected dust, and I only made it to a few races. I worked on my hot rods and tried to make a few shows to get some inspiration and meet some people. I made it to Viva Las Vegas, Billetproof Detroit, and The Hunnert Car Pileup. I've got to say the HCP was the best, I had a really great time. So how many cool shows did you guys make it to this year? What was your favorite? any recomendations for next year. I hear the round up is awesome but it's right before VLV and I don't think I can swing both.

Hey Denise, there were some awesome pics of you and Rudy getting that black deuce covered in mud at the showdown in CK Deluxe this month but I'm sure you knew that. Way cool, looks like you guys had a blast.

You thinnk those photos rock (which they do of course) just wait till you see the next issue of The Rodders Journal, out right before Thanksgiving. MAJOR Jalopy Showdown coverage from what I've been told.:D

York Springs, PA is about 9 hours from the Metro Detroit area and is one of our favorite events. You should really seriously consider checking it out next year.

IF I could only do ONE event a year it would certainly, no questions about it, be the HAMB Drags.

    this year:

    Cavalcade of Customs: Cincinatti, OH
    Autorama: Detroit, MI
    NSRA Mid-America nats: Springfield, MO
    Rock n' Rods: Bloomington, IL
NSRA Street Rod Nats: Louisville, KY
    HAMB Drags: Joplin, MO
Cruise night in Jacksonville, IL and Route 66 show in Springfield, IL

Favorite? Prolly Hamb drags or Hunnert car pileup. But all the others where real fun too. I think even the ones that arent great can only be as fun as you make them.

Oh yeah, and if it wasnt for my parents id prolly only be able to afford about 1 of these shows every year.

This was by far a banner year for me.

Grand National Roadster Show, Pomona, CA
    LA Roadster Show, Pomona, CA
    Paso Robles, CA
    GG Columbus, OH
    NSRA Nationals, KY
Donut Derelicts, Huntington Beach, CA and Pomona swap meet - several times each

Getting to spend five(!) months in So Cal was a gift in my opinion. I only wish I could have seen and done more while I was out there. Next time it'll be different.

I didn't get out much...finances being what they were...
Good Guys in Columbus, Pumpkin Run Nationals in Batavia, OH, NSRA Nats in KY, and the Hunnert Car Pileup outside Chicago.

The Hunnert Car Pileup was BY FAR the best show. If I only make one next season, THAT is the one I'll goto.
