Odd... I'm having no performance issues at all. In fact, our server load is nil right now... I'll keep monitoring.

So I just went back and did server load averages over the past two weeks... We never spiked at all and average load times are pretty damn quick. I'm not saying it's not an issue on my side, but I don't have any evidence of such quite yet. I'll keep looking.

To give you an example, it just took 6 minutes to get to this point from the start of the thread. I'm not having this problem on any other sites.

6 minutes? I would definately get an alarm if a page was taking that long to load. There could be an issue between you and I... Who is your ISP?

May be you need to reset your browser.
I dont know how to do it, but my uncle work's on computer's and says that if you are having a slow time getting stuff to load in it may be your browser setting.........hope that helps.

It doesn't take long at all for me and im on dial up.

might need to run a adware killer on your PC... when my shit starts loading slow, that's usually the culprit

Well, I came back to check here at 404PM. That's when i clicked on the HAMB site. It's 412PM as I type this. I've been to several other sites in the meantime, and had no problems........they are working like the HAMB was last week on this computer. I'm not very computer literate, but this is strange.

I cruise in in 2nd gear then hit a couple stop signs ( long enough for a smoke and a couple beers ) Then it kicks me in neutral when I try to read a PM or send a PM and kicks me right out with an ERROR 504 GATEWAY TIMEOUT!What's with that?

That's an AOL error and has nothing to do with the HAMB. Read this post:

    1. If you are using AOL that IS a problem. ARE YOU USING AOL ?
    2. Spyware- Adware hijacking your system.
    3. PORN - clean out the history if you have any.
    4. Web history - tempory-clean it out.

90% chance one or ALL of the above.

There really is no excuse to run AOL. There are cheaper and much better options out there.... If anyone needs help finding those options, just let me know.

another thing to check once in a while if you get really slow ass load times if you browse a lot of pics on the HAMB is to clear your cache more often... that dumps all the stuff your browser stores "so that pages often visited load faster" . . . yea right, if they loaded fast, i wouldnt need to dump the cache :D

Maybe it's a Southen Arizona speed issue? The HAMB has been choppy and slow on my computer for at least a week now, while other sites load as normal. I have hi-speed cable internet, use Netscape 7.2, and clear my cache and cookies daily, so mine is not an AOL issue? It is slow to the point that the I can see everything loading separately, first text, then graphics, and finally the avitars. Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

Hey teach.... would you be willing to try a test of sorts? Can you install Internet Explorer or Firefox and see if the performance of the HAMB improves at all for you?

WOW!!!!!! I emptied the cache and cookies, downloaded internet explorer 7 and changed the adapter and it shot me right down. I couldn't even log in:mad: . So, I put er in the garage for the night and when I fired it up this morning it was like someboby put a blower on the HEMI. I can hardely keep up with it. I have no idea what happened but I'm not complaining. :)

I'll be a good soldier and give Firefox a test drive.

update: Although the initial page load is a little choppy, switching back and forth between threads and the main message board seems to be quicker than it was on Netscape.
