I can't decide what color my sled should be: forest green, navy blue, or eggplant purple. Get voting!
post a picture! There are some talented guys on here with an eye for color choice! We'd love to help if we knew what it was!
It's a Morris Minor, classic British fat-fendered sedan. Done early 50s style with a 48 Caddy grille, pillarless chop, tail-dragin' stance, skirts, Sombreros and Appletons to finish it off. No pics yet as it ain't built Imagine that, only kooler.
That was my first choice, now I'm not so sure. Actually, that maroon colour in the pic looks kinda nice, maybe? A bit Matranga Merc?
The maroon in the pic is a cool color, or should I say, colour. I like that or BRG would be nice too. Pearl tangerine would leave 'em with something to remember. Then again a nice...
Dark color on a car that small make it disappear into it's own shadow and look smaller while the only cars that look good white are Rolls, 60's Chevy's and a frew Caddys and Lincolns. Big cars. Some of the colors on "newer" Korean cars are really beautiful. I was looking at some color chips at the paint store and really liked several years variations on Green Kias like this one
as long as it's not this color! ...yet I kinda like the silver thing this one's got goin' on (this is the one I have them warm fuzzy dreams about)
A Cadillac grille on one of those has to be like your 12 year old sister trying on Dolly Parton's bra, or something. If it's not built, come up with some models or die cast and spray bomb them in your color choices and see what, if any of them, works best. If this was really built back in the day the color would probably have been something used on a new car when it was built, maybe some old color chip pages would help. Or else paint it in that fancy Dupont paint that changes color from green to purple to blue to gold - then you have all your colors, all at the same time -
Well it probably won't get an actual Caddy grille, but a homemade, built-to-scale version (much cheaper). I'm trying to make it look like it was built in the early 50s, and darker colors were the way to go back then, so no lime green or color-changey stuff. Thinking about it last night, I reckon green probably is best, but the paint shop is way off yet, so I've got plenty of time to change my mind
Plenty of time to pick a colour - by the time I chose one for my old Chevy I'd sold it. Still - reckon you'd be better off starting with a 100E. In pale blue... Check your PM's btw.
