    VISUAL MOTIVATION for ya Hank.

I really like the look of solids on 5Ws and I know there are a few more like me rooting around on the HAMB.
Here’s a couple pirated pics of 5Ws with the ‘solids look’ that I’ve seen here and major props to the guy that built his own (last pic). That’s just too cool.

******this olds powered 5W is absolutely killer IMHO.

******homemade solids really finish off this cool ride.

Baron's roadster could be the poster car for what a hot rod should look like.

    Thanks.
The coupe with the Olds has some 'attitude', I wounder if painted or polished whels.
I heard this wheels was sold new repro in aluminium before.
My is painted rather Ok ( champagne- yellow/green/gold ) but not really look as gold anodzed, but on the other hand I has not seen any NOS 'live'.
If they was possible to polish I would do that, but I guess my will be dark grey or black and Kinmonts on.

I searched on internet and saw a 3W coupe with wheels tight to inner wheel openings.
From behind this look odd, but taste is diffirent, but a nice cool car.

Having built and rebuilt a few hot rod rear ends, I have to say that the ONLY WAY to get the final wheel position the way you want it, is to put the wheels and tires next to the car and measure between the wheel mounting surfaces, including the brake drums!
A good builder can reliably make the width + or - 1/16". I don't like wheel spacers, but if you will be changing wheels, as in Hank's case, make the rear as wide as necessary for the wheel/tire combination with the largest backspace.

I have never seen reliable information detailing the drum to drum dimensions for original Ford rear ends. Lot's of stuff that says, "My buddy has this and I like it. Can you make mine just like his but with different brakes, wheels and tires?"
    WMS-WMS the ONLY WAY!!!!!!!!!

How does all the above spacing info apply to a Model A body? Is the WMS to WMS the same, or is the Model A width slightly narrower to achieve the same look (body to wheel spacing)?

Put tires next to body then measure 1 1/2 away from the nearest body part. After that measure wms to wms and find axle that is close or have one made.
