Are you sure your cam timing is correct?

Yes, every Brierley cam I've used is spot on. There may be slight differences in actual vs. "advertised" numbers, but I have found that to be true with most cam grinders that I've used. I won't answer the second question. ;)

@Dave_D would you consider parting with one of those turtledecks?

  4. No. And this has occurred to me as well. Probably the first thing I'll check.

    Checking in.
Summer just finished, but still have a couple of months of nice weather for banger time.
Will get some action pics soon.

  8. It depends on what you are going to do with the car/truck.
The SCAT crank is decent for a mild motor, but it also depends on the final usage.
The pics of the broken units are a compilation of some years of abuse, the one I have broke 6-7 years ago.

If you think you need more than the Scat crank, use a "B" or "C" crank, not the "BB".
IMHO, welding up the flange is necessary, drilling for oils doesn't compromise the integrity and having a proper grind job just finishes the job. Mind you, I am talking about an original Ford crank, not any aftermarket one.

I plan on thrashing on this motor. I was lucky enough to acquire some of Pete Richardsons old engine stuff. The engine will be blown.

I have a Burlington crank in my A motor and am super happy with it. It sees 4500rpm on a regular basis.

Wow! Looks great and I thought my motor was flashy…. That polished aluminum is addicting.

Not much news - still collecting parts.

Not too many raw castings of counterweighted B journal sized cranks capable of 1/4" stroke around these days - so couldn't help myself.

I am still here too forging ahead with my The Sacramento Coupe build, got my quick change built ( I made a video of it but to be honest its rubbish) and have now stuffed it under the car and adjusted my spring pack to get the ride height I want ,I am lucky to have two anvils with stands (95 kg each) so they are in the cab to act as people ! My GOLIATH shocks arrived too so it is all go at the moment to get this thing on its wheels by Monday . 20230303_100950.jpg 20230303_153210.jpg

You are probably right. I did buy some stuff from him years ago. Have you bought anything from him recently?

Anyone know anything about this car? Supposedly a car that ran in the late 40's and 50's.

Last I knew he was done...I bought a couple of his covers 5-6 years ago and he said that was the last of them.
Had the '29 out today... Roadster weather IMG_20230305_100854407.jpg IMG_20230305_100833879.jpg

  23. I gave him a shout a few months back to pick his brain about his wood patterns, he mentioned that he was done. Bummer! I would've loved to see that mag drive in action

  24. All I know is it must have sold quick, the sale post was taken down on facebook fast.

I'll bet back in the '50's the driver didn't have a gray beard.....

Saw it on FB Market Place. Was seriously thinking about it. Glad someone on the HAMB got it. All I know is what he told me. Sorry! Cool car!

Just another question, what would be the proper bolts to mount the pressure plate to the flywheel? I can’t do much right now but I can take them in to be balanced.
