stovebolt intakes

Several years ago I did some intakes,

 

Since the head was ported I matched the intake to the head. It wasn't difficult, it is aluminum.

 

My latest effort . I still need to find 3 good carbs .

 

I realize that. I just wondered if your manifold was the same as mine. Clifford has made a few changes over the years.

 

Saw this at the Turlock swap last weekend. Not sure who made it or when, but looks bout right for a stovebolt


Here is a shot from a 1934 Winfield catalog showing a single pot intake for a chebby, wish I had a later catalog that showed the above setup

 

216 Sharp dual I just picked up. Super clean, no carbon in the heat box, no fastener or clamp wear. Looks new.

 

I've got the same intake with CS2 cast on the center port; I'd have to look, but I think that mine's for a 235.

 

I've seen the '29-'36 Chevy Winfield intake in the flesh at Hershey.

 

Tattersfields have been mentioned on this thread since page 1, but I haven't seen a pic posted of a painted one. I picked this up locally on Saturday (surprise Craigslist find), as shown with adapters, Holley 94s, and linkage (raised up to compensate for the adapter height). I'm looking forward to spending some time with some Dawn and a toothbrush to see what it looks like under the grime. Anybody know if this is factory blue?

 

Not sure, but the color looks close to what McGurk used on his intakes.

 

You're right, it does. I was trying to remember who else besides Nicson painted their stuff, and it was McGurk I couldn't put my finger on.

 

What color did Nicson paint their intakes? Mine has the remnants of red on it I just thought someone had painted it way back.

If you're ever interested in trading a nicson for a weiand @ebs121781 let me know - I have decided to hold out for the intake I want rather than getting this one all set up.

 

I've seen a purplish-maroon on a Nicson 216 dual, and a lavender on a GMC triple side draft, both in my buddy's collection. Edit: I think Heathen has posted a picture of the same model GMC triple in the same color in this thread.

Hello, I know this is an older post but that is a neat picture. I am new to this site and just having fun looking around. A few of those I recognize as I have the unenviable task of going thru my dad's collection. He ran GMCs and a Wayne back in the 50's. I wish I had listened more when he was explaining these motors to me than thinking I had it all figured out at 18. Thanks again for the pic.

Does anyone know if a single 2 bbl intake was ever made for a 235, wanting a 2 bbl but with a stockish look. Might try to make one if I can find someone who can weld cast iron.

 

A butane manifold, maybe? Aftermarket single carb with no heat...

 

I've never seen one. I do have a stock intake that someone modified to use a 97/94 type two barrel with.

Yep! Just thinking about him while at the Wahoo swap meet. Some one had a piece of '56 Ford Fairlane rear quarter trim for sale ... I always like the way that he put that in between the BelAir quarter moldings on his '54 Chevy.

 

Still have some random piece of it ....
