Art & Inspiration Which of these shirt design do you like more?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Hitchhiker, Feb 1, 2023.

  1. I'm looking at doing some t-shirts for my shop. I've had a lot of people ask about merch recently Honestly it's a big leap for me. I have 2 sticker designs at the printer right now. Having.....a lot of stickers printed..lol. should have those in a week. I do my own design. I think it's cool because you're getting something I designed myself! I'm definitely not a pro though!I have few from various artists I've collected that I hope to do "artist series' shirts with in the future too. Anyways, thank you guys for watching. the channel is fairly well received for a new guy. I'm learning a ton about editing and design on computers. It's very cool. I'm having fun! I freaking love hot rods.

I probably only want to do one t-shirt design right now? The color is obviously more costly. But cool.... I'm a "man in black" type. But realize my taste isn't for everyone. Ao whipped up the color. Which do you like? These are just ruff drafts. But generally close to what I'm going for.

  2. Casting a vote for the 2nd one. Both are reet!

  3. Thanks! There is something very nice about the simplicity of black and white.

  4. When going formal you can wear any colour tie with the black and white…

  5. Maybe I should make it so if you turn it inside out it's a tuxedo?

  6. Top one for me... Both are great though.

I like either, but I’m like that.
Only suggestion I can make is edit the post and see if you can add a poll to it.

Close call here as both look nice. Slight edge for white on black. Quick thought: have a tag line to put below the drawing? Not this but something better: “Home of 25 hour service”.
    Just a thought.

I like second one, but I would like second one pocket size on the front and top one one full size on the back.

  14. Second one for me, but I could be biased since my t-shirt designs are all black and white as well...

Black and white. Burn holes won't show up as easily.

Both are cool, I’d probably wear the color one more often

Boneyard51 and Bill's Auto Works like this.
  24. #1 color

Logo on the back of the shirt...of course that's only my opinion

I don't mind the colored one but I don't care for the plain block font. Try it with the lettering on the B/W one.

Well, the top design definitely has more punch, but the simplicity of the basic black and white design, will be cheaper to print.
    Both designs are excellent!
I am sure that Mr. Charles Bacon, will approve, of which ever you choose to produce!

If you want some advice from an old fart, I’d suggest a hybrid of your idea. I dig the idea of the old truck, but it doesn’t really say ‘speed shop’ the way some of us geazers think. It does say shop truck and that’s a cool rep for your outfit. So how about your ‘Seattle Speed Shop’ logo (just the words) on the breast pocket location on the front, and then use the truck (with the word logo on the door of the truck) on the back of the t-shirt?
