Hello everyone, my dad recently came into possession of his engine stand he’s had in storage for ~30 years. I’m looking for info on the attachments pictured for the Stand and what they fit. I obviously know the exhaust ones are going to be for some kind of flathead (most likely fords as we are a ford family) but the others I can not find a shred of info on. Any help is appreciated.

Watch Thread linear59look Member from Cleveland, Oh So I have always wanted one of these or KR Wilson engine stands. The style of these stands is killer.I know they were made for use in Ford dealerships(even though I’m a GM) guy) in the 30s-50s. And the bulk of them I’ve seen have the adapter for mounting flatheads from the exhaust manifolds since the bell housings were prone to breakage. This one clearly has some sort of home made adapter. Does anyone recognize what this adapter is for? Next, I have never seen one of this style with a crank for rotating the engine. All of the ones I have seen you have to rotate the engine by hand and there is a locking lever which mounts in the 2 holes at the top of the upright. Anyone else out there seen or own one of these with the crank? Is there an adapter that exists for conventional mounting by the bell housing bolt holes so I could mount an engine other than a flathead? Or is making my own the only option? This brings me to my last question. This stand is made of cast aluminum not iron. Any knowledge of breakage or anything like that? Reason being i work on Olds/Caddy engines. Prior to buying this I assumed adapting it for the newer engines would be no big deal, but after thoroughly researching the weights, the early Olds and Caddy’s are easily 150-200lbs heavier, not to mention the increased lever arm due to the extended bell housing on early olds engines which would place added stress on the upright. Anyone ever adapted these stands for use on newer,heavier and longer engines without losing their foot over it? I will not do anything to the stand itself that would permanently change it. (Somebody already added a sort of gusset between the base and upright). Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B. Obviously the long one is for a flathead block mounting to the exhaust flanges. No idear on the weird shaped one. But my guess for the half circle mount is for banjo axle assembly. Do you have one you can hold it up to?
Haven't found any attachments like yours but did find this Manzel attachment for a Ford tractor engine. From what I'm reading, it looks like the gear drive you have is the really cool thing. I saw reference to an adapter to a K.R. Wilson stand also.
Looks like the Manzel 6005 "G" flathead mounting bracket that I've been looking for in one of the pictures. Lee
