I met him at the Grand National Roadster show a few years ago. I had a 1932 license plate that I had a few signatures like George Barris etc. Jeff was very nice and he signed the plate. Jeff-Beck.jpg

Terrible loss to music and hot rodding. My older brother turned me on to his music in the late 70's.
My high school buddies didn't get into it but I was hooked. Rest in Peace Jeff!

I've been in the music biz for a long time, and since the news hit the wires all the guitarists I know have been exchanging sad messages back and forth. Finally, one old pedal steel player piped up with, "Well, he's playing lead for Jesus now".

Yup. Think of the jams being laid down right now while the angels groove along...

"Live at Ronnie Scotts" ... a short video I've saved on the DVR for years is always inspirational. I didn't know much about his entire musical life, but the albums I have are just wonderful. RIP, Jeff.

When I was a kid my hippie uncle gave me a copy of Beck's album Truth which turned me and my friends on to a whole new world of music. jeffbeck251007w[1].jpg

Boy, this is a tough one for me, for sure!
I went a long time missing out on the genious of Jeff Beck (post Yardbirds, etc.), music just wasn't the center of my life for quite a number of years, was actually not long after the death of the eight track, then starting college, got the racing bug, falling in love.................
I picked back up with Jeff Becks' playing with the discovery of all the videos of him on YouTube, both the music and his involvement with hot rods and I can't put into words how my appreciation rocketed by watching the closeup footage of how he actually produced his unique sound, Eric Clapton even said he had difficulty figuring it out.
I think it was his collaborations with so many other respected artists, his huge portfolio of work and his taste in cars that drew me in.
Jeff Beck was one of us!

I posted this on the other "Jeff Beck" thread but I'm gonna post it on this one too. Think it's important for folks to know that Jeff walked the walk.....in music and hot rods.

  21. Saw him and Stevie Ray Vaughan in 1989 in Houston at the Coliseum
The finale was both three man groups on stage at the same time
    Absolutely mind blowing!
Hope his daughter, who played the bass in his band, keeps his legacy alive.

I had to let this one sink in…Truly one of the greats gone in a flash. Sincere condolences to his family and friends. Enough to make the Black Cat Moan… 8CD1EDBB-4ACC-4D40-B916-3D2178626D4E.jpeg

I think you're referring to Tal Wilkenfield?

She's an incredible bassist/musician, and cute as can be, but not his daughter. That seems to be an urban legend on the internet.
