    Hello,

It was a good thing we had two Asahi Pentax 35mm "Spotmatic"cameras. One was always loaded with Ektachrome color slides. The other was an older camera and was loaded with home grown Plus X or Tri-X black and white film. Home grown means not a boxed commercial film in the yellow Kodak box for 35mm film. I bought Plus X and Tri X at bulk and kept it in their own large film containers. When my supply was running low, I got out the large roll and rolled a nice 35 shot cassette for one camera, plus a few extra cans. The color camera always had Kodak Ektachrome color slide film in it.

On this day, I took a B&W photo of the 327 Ford Sedan Delivery to keep as a memento since we were selling the hot rod. It just was not working out as a three person hot rod as only two seats were available at any time. The third seat was tried in many different configurations, but none met our safety seat requirement for our new family responsibilities.

But, at the same time, we liked the red/orange color and wanted a keepsake of our last project we put in “blood, sweat and tears” to get it finished with some professional help. It was a great handling and safe hot rod for two people on our long photo journeys. The back had umpteen areas for our photographic supplies and equipment in the back, but only two people could use the hot rod safely. Even the shorter surfboard could fit in place, but, not a third person.
upload_2023-8-11_3-14-52.png Almost a 200 mile round trip voyage to visit our mom in Long Beach and see some visiting points on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. One of our favorite road trips for a couple of 20 somethings to enjoy. The cruise down the coast back to the OC was always in the cards since we normally do not like freeways and the traffic. An ocean front highway, the big blue ocean, the white sandy beaches, versus the 4 lane traffic bustling North or South on any of the ways to (get to our destination or...) get back home from the Westside of Long Beach. What a choice!!!

So, I had taken the same style of photo in color and black/white of our last vestiges of our hot rod project. YRMV

  20. My parents' first car (1941 Pontiac Torpedo) and third car (1953 Willys Aero Ace), both of which I would hotrod the hell out of today. I'd do the same with their second car (1952 Henry J) but don't have a photo of it. What would I have done with them, you ask? The Pontiac would get a 400+ cubic inch Pontiac engine, lowered, mild customed. The Willys would get a nailhead, one of the earlier ones to be late-fifties/early sixties era appropriate with a narrowed Olds rear end. The Henry J? Ah, that gets the 341 DeSoto from my old neighbor's '57 four-door, a narrowed Dana 60 rear with 4:56 SureGrip, Straight front axle and a nice, fat 671 blower to shove that fat wad of go juice into those cylinders. Dreaming's a lot cheaper than actually building them. Dads Pics 064.JPG Dads Pics 068.JPG Dads Pics 068.JPG

No worries. Not 100% sure it is a "Speedster", but it is definately a Hudson.
