Folks Of Interest Wow time flies when/what is Your “Join” year?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rosa, Nov 30, 2022.

  1. Oct. 3, 2003 under a slightly different name; took a little hiatus due to family and health issues in 2010. Then discovered I'd forgotten my password and came back as Warbird1...

  2. Found the jalopy Journal around Christmas of 99. Didn't really know what a message board was for a week or so. Logged on in January of 2000 on a hand me down computer.

  3. For a bunch of "traditional" guys, you sure spend a lot of time on the internet! :D:D:D I used to find old small block Chevy engines, and had to call the dealership with the numbers to figure out what they were! My how things have changed! I'll be the new kid here, 2019

  4. My jobs for the last 22 years or so require me to be in front of the computer, easy to have a window open. Several of those years was running the front end of a rod shop so it was almost a requirement to be on top of things and sell 32/3/4 stuff for the owner

  5. I like it when I go to the parts store and they look at me all pissed off because they gotta look in the old books ;)

  6. I have MY OWN old books! ;)

  7. Wouldn't do me no good lol, I don't have no parts inventory! But I do have a shit ton of paint chip books!

  10. Oh, it would. You just look up your # and walk in to the parts house and tell them what you need.

Dec 28, 2007. It doesn't seem that long at all. That was just after some guys up in BC kept mentioning "those guys on the HAMB.

  12. I don’t quite remember when I became a member here. At least 5 years ( I think) my dad ( miss ya pops) turned me on to the place. Been around ever since.

  17. ....I was going to call you a "GREENhorn", Jack, but I just couldn't bring myself to do so....:D:):D:):D...;).

  18. I have been around since 2011, but after a certain point it just feels normal & the years pass on by!

Funny because before 2007 or so I had no desire to advertise my business electronically or even be on the internet other than just an email address. Things have really changed, the 10 years before 2007 with an ad in Hemmings probably didn't bring me the business that one year on the internet did (especially the Hamb) not to mention the friendships I have made that are priceless!!!!

    God Bless

  22. TMan, you are the reason I lurked here for awhile and then finally joined 20 years ago this month in 2002. Although I am on Instagram more these days as deucehotrods, I do come back and visit here every so often, but I check out the for sale stuff almost daily.

Oct 2011 the second time. I think somewhere around 2007 I went by Timmy T and I can’t recall why I changed to rusty rocket.

12/2002. I was on the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America site and a guy had a thread going about a perfectly good car that got cut up and ruined. I thought to myself that HAMB sounded more like me, than VCCA did. Been here ever since.

This one is my second user name, and that was started in 2016.
Before that I was 50dodge4x4, that was started in 2004. I had a computer crash, and couldn't remember my password, and my 50 Dodge 4x4 truck had been gone since 2011. It was time for an update.

April 2004, I'd had the Roadster project for 42 years, looks like our 60th anniversary is just around the corner, that may be some worthless record.
