The heads appear to be 1969 or later.

I can't make out the casting number but I'm going to venture that it does not end with the last 3 digits being 174.

Curious what the casting date is.

This thing kicked my ass today. I just took a long shower and am sitting on the couch drinking a hot beverage.

Chevy used the "870" casting for 327's for the 1962 model year thru the end of the 1965 model year. Then they introduced the "174" casting for one model year (1966).

The cast date Looks like A 24 3. Meaning it was cast at the Saginaw Michigan Foundry January 24th 1963. Then shipped to Flint for machining and final assembly as a running engine.

Now what did Flint stamp on the deck where it extends just beyond the right cylinder head?

Example, Please, please don't use anything abrasive to clean the pad if needed.

If we accept that the stamp is legitimate the block came from either 1963 Corvette convertible 30867S110712 or 1963 Corvette coupe 30837S110712. The engine was built at the Flint Engine plant February 21,1963 a month after the block was cast. A little long. It was built for a 360 horse fuelie.

The misaligned F is something that could happen but that and the 1 month spread raise suspicion.

If the car still exists and the stamp is unaltered the owner of the car should be quite happy to find it. A careful cleaning of the pad without anything abrasive and a hi resolution photo posted might shed further light.

Did we go thru all this once earlier?

I wasn’t nowhere as big as the one in June. I watched a lot of racing.
Ethan didn’t get to come. He had to work today.
I got here about midnight last night.

I went to a swap meet in Dayton Tennessee Saturday. There was an awesome turnout. I bought a set of valve covers that a friend of mine asked me to look for. I also bought a box of Holley carb parts for 10 dollars. here are a few pics of a couple cars that were there. This interior from the Silver 55 is amazing! I think I see 62 and 64 Impala SS interior parts all put together like it was factory. There is some real skill here and pretty much everything I've seen. You guys really got it together.
