Thank you, yes the 3/4” step down on the rails was to keep a little bit taller core height on the radiator to help with cooling.

Currently prepping to get the mud work started, going to try and get it painted in a couple weeks before the weather turns up here in mass.

Here we are a few days in to my vacation week, I did all the mud work over the weekend and then got the car masked off and put in primer Sunday night.
I put down two coats of epoxy and then three coats of Evercoat FinishSand which is a polyester primer. It takes me pretty much a full day to block everything in one grit. Here it sits sanded to 320, once I get the doors blocked again everything will get a final prime.

Was able to give everything a couple thin coats of epoxy last night, from what I could see in the reflections it’s straight enough to paint now.
Going to block everything one last time with 600 and try to get some paint laid down this weekend! 7F1AE6FB-1166-472F-97E1-52E0C7F49D46.jpeg

I had some problems last weekend with the gun I was using, just could not get the sealer to lay down. I had to sand the deck lid again due to dry overspray and basically scuff the whole car, clean again re-mask and put up new plastic on everything. What a pain to deal with but it had to be done.

Anyway as of noon today we have paint! 3B90728B-69D3-4D45-AACC-DC2AD422756C.jpeg

Great color! I was trying to get my Dad to paint his current project a color like that, but he went much darker.

  12. Well worth the extra effort! That is going to be fabulous.

    Thanks guys!
Pulled all the masking off and was really relieved that the body matches the frame pretty dang close. This color is tough, I can see a couple pieces including the dash that need to be sprayed again that don’t match. Was able to get the rear end in today and will get the front end under it next. 9240D9D2-101E-4F51-8EC7-50F40D781C25.jpeg

Put the doors and deck lid out in the sun to help them cure today. The color sure stands tall in natural light! F7D43F53-00D4-4813-80F4-ACF373719CB8.jpeg

Picking away at the roadster, It sure is nice to be done with bodywork ! The Cadillac was also dropped off at the machine shop last week to be rebuilt. 5F2D1C9B-F7D4-4AC2-B08E-BE07FDC32BAB.jpeg

scan0025.jpg It gets cold in New England in the winter, which is why I moved to Florida (among other reasons). Hard to put things together when your hands are frozen.

Thanks guys I appreciate it, I dusted off the sewing machine and got the trunk upholstered over the last few weeks. Other than that it’s small stuff that’s not very interesting picture wise.

I’ve been installing the wiring harness I picked up from Rebel wire, it’s the 8 circuit kit and they make it really straight forward to install.
For something that’s a bit more interesting had to throw the top on to see how it looks against the blue! DA8E207F-1D6A-4245-BC5A-A3ECA8282045.png
