Just a thought. If--and that's a big if--you paint her down the road, I think bringing her back to the form she was in back in the day as those pictures portray her would be the route to go.

Hey Dennis, Yeah ive been super busy with other projects. Trying to get my 39 deluxe ready for sale and I just bought a 34 roadster project. But by the end of this weekend I should have it about ready to run. I have to put the rear back in and replace the wheel cylinders and hoses. Had to get clever on putting the rear spring back on I didnt want to pull it apart. And yes the brakes are upside down lol

Is there a reason for the brakes being on upside down ?

I think that the spring mounts would have interfered with the wheel cylinder/hoses.

I think that if people would just read the whole thread on posts they would see that their question has already been discussed in the thread earlier as seems to be the case here of just jumping in the middle of a thread, seeing something that interests them, and asking a question already answered.

In post #297 looks like the plate on the frame had maybe a friction shock to the wishbone? Then looks like they went to cartridge shocks later?

I think in post #297 they are the same day, since you got the negatives it looks like the one with the plate is developed backwards. Even the trees look backwards. Looks like it was for the steering box.

Those pictures were actually two different days. I actually never figured out what the plate was for on the passenger side frame. I have to talk to the original owner and ask some questions. Dennis the car is just sitting in my garage. Been working on other projects right now. The coupe will probably be put up for sale in the near future. I love the car but I bought a 34 roadster project that needs my attention that out ranks this one

  18. I just went through the complete find and rebuild of this kick ass old hot rod, and may I say you done an outstanding job bring it back as once was.
I see where you are going to sell it and move on to the 34 roadster. So I wish you good luck with selling it. Hope you are a little picky about the new owner & pick one that will keep it as it is...
Thanks for the great ride along...

I have 50-60 yr old really bad cracked lacquer paint...I've had this '37 22 yrs and only the deck lid had signs of cracking then...but now, the doors, the roof is cracking a lot....strangely the hood has not one crack. I hate it...while others that see the car love the cracks. they love the "patina" I plan on painting the car.

    Hey clubcoupe37,
It's your car, I agree, paint it! Nothing wrong with doing what you want!
If you use nitrocellulose lacquer, yo will be able to see cracks again in about 10 years!

Amazing how a post from 2015 gets back to the top!

That is funny how old threads seem to resurface.

Curious what ever happened to this beautiful car.
Sold? Where is it now? What has it been up to in the last 5 years. Inquiring minds and what not.

revisiting this, the picture with the bolted plate in question is reversed, you can see the steering column, pitman arm, drag link and forward primary tube as well as the the driver and steering wheel just inside the door.
..and the trees in the background..
