local to me, made an offer stating I'd go up once I looked at it, went away overnight and came home to find it sold, sucks to be me.

That '42-'47 Mercury pickup that Wanderlust posted is a good looking truck. I know it's the same animal as the US-built '42-'47 "Jailbar," but with a much more attractive grille. If I had one of those Ford jailbars, I'd be looking for one of the Canadian Mercury grilles for it.

 

You ever been by that place going into LaGrange on Hwy 27 south ? Hundreds of old cars and trucks.

 

That place has been discussed a number of times- the owner changed his story every time I've been there about why he can't sell anything or let anyone look. It's a shame, because there are a number of interesting cars and trucks dating all the way back into the Teens, but are so rotted now that there's really no saving most.

 

That is a lot of aluminum scrap metal.
