I was in the middle of an absolute panic. Woke up at 4:30am to every server alarm I have going off like WWIII was starting or some shit. Went to load the site to a blank white page and prepared for the worst - a DB crash, a server crash, or something else catastrophic that would lead to me working for 48 hours straight.

"This is bad," I thought. So before I jumped into days of throwing on bandaids and trying to bluff contract developers into thinking that I knew my shit, I decided to take a shower. Did that quickly, brushed my teeth, and then literally ran out to the Atomic Lab.

When I got here, the site was fine... and all of the alarms were set off because I updated some software last night and forgot to turn off my security monitor.

    Fuck me man. That sucked.

Actually, I couldn't get on the Old Farts or the HAMB yesterday afternoon for an hour or so.

This is only the beginning......so much to look forward to.
You forget more as you get older.
    Trust me.

The only thing you get really good at is..... pull my finger.

I'm glad it was actually all good, but I too have very little idea what you're talking about. And forgetting shit? Cob's right when he says more to come. But hey, just forget it...:p

Sometimes you have to laugh at yourself- before I retired I got to do a few "play days" with a new D6 dozer with the latest GPS controls. Pretty sweet, the entire jobsite is mapped into the system, building pad, parking, landscape etc., and tracks it all off the satellite. Working great one day, came back the next and it was having a spaz attack, ghosting in and out. Fought with it for an hour, and got out and looked around- I had forgotten to put the little antenna on the receiver- d'oh
