F1 engine running in a shop, I don't usually post non trad stuff, but the throttle response is unreal .At about the halfway point the revs start, don't know how it stays together. Its a hotrod to me anyhow,

Some of the newer F1 engines can turn 20k rpm. To acheive this they don't have camshafts. The valve are actuated using compressed air.

If you like that first video, check this one out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGEqlNU30Tg

The engineers play God Save the Queen with engine revs.

  8. The first engine is amazing, and the secong one is a little funny. The guy with the laptop must be programing the motor to rev the tunes out, thats pretty cool.

there are worse ways to die than taking a 'bullet' from an F1. you'd die w/ honor and respect if that was your motor :)

Good point Scott--if it was my motor I'd probably have more faith in its integrity

They do have camshafts. I think that you are referring to the valvesprings which are air springs. Not normal metal valve springs. Air does not fatigue like metal will at those revs.
