Working on a Model A frame to stuff a 303 Oldsmobile and Ford truck 3 speed in. Little 28 Ford coupe 4" chop. I am always working on something. I always try to stay on point but get lost when I look around my shop! Early (39) banjo rear. We will see!

Creeping forward slowly on the roadster assembly. Got the spindles, backing plates and brakes done, finally. Also got the Olds rear brakes assembled. Chrome don't get you home, but.... it puts a smile on my dial.

I tried some new exhaust paint on the manifolds for my Stude pickup. The VHT cast iron that I used on the Corvette ram horns on my '56 Chevy came out kind of a brownish gray and got worse with age. Didn't like them. Eastwood didn't like my computer and wouldn't process my order. So, I got this stuff instead; KBS XTC coating. Good reviews (fwiw). Brushes on nice, takes two coats minimum - 8hrs in between coats.
This is the first coat, I guess we'll see.

  5. Received the new sub-frame for the roadster last week; just got it notched for the step in the frame and sitting down where it belongs. roadster subframe4.JPG

The ‘58 is “done” so I’ve been focused on my OT hot rod. This weekend I will finish welding in the subframe connectors then lay down some FatMat and install new carpeting…

Thinking I'll install the balancer on my 327 engine. It does not have the threaded hole in the crank. So...

I was bored yesterday, so had time to add a pinstripe to the stamped trim line on my '39 Chev coupe. Been waffling on doing this awhile, and it turned out to only be about a 20 min. job, and most of that was time putting down a lower edge tape line to stripe to. A little detail, but it enhances the plain body line I think.

I got my roadster’s narrowed ‘60 Olds rear end assembled. I’ve got to hand it to Mark Williams Enterprises, they make great axles. Competitive prices, fast turn around and great quality. I have their axles in my Austin gasser too.
