Hobby Lobby carries styrene in different sizes, shapes and sheets that can be used to make that grill portion. 39 Chevy made into a 40 using bits of styrene.

 

Jerry I hope you have AC in your shop, because it's hard to be motivated when it's 106. I know what it's like being about 30 miles away. when it get's to 100 outside it's 95 in the shop it's time to find the AC. Stay safe Frank

 

I don't have AC in the shop, but I do have it in the house.

Well, I'm trying to keep this as accurate/authentic looking as possible, you know that. On the wheel/tire/hubcap deal it's the same. I tried to see if I could find a lathe that I could use without success.
As with the need to consistently drill straight holes in those dash knobs awhile back I went out and bought a Harbor Freight drill press. It was just under $1oo.oom It worked great, and I still have it.
So, I saw a lathe on their website for $300.00, and bought it. I can report that it has worked great.
