Thanks, Truk. Let's shift to the front of the "car", we start here, of course. IMG_1172 (1).jpg

Jer, if it was me I would not go too nuts with the details. Just the color and vague outline of the car. Otherwise it may look like the car has warts. Fantastic job by the way?

How in the world am I going to compress/shrink down something that looks like a grille in a space like this? IMG_1289.jpg

Hobby Lobby carries styrene in different sizes, shapes and sheets that can be used to make that grill portion. 39 Chevy made into a 40 using bits of styrene. 20200611_091032.jpg

Jerry I hope you have AC in your shop, because it's hard to be motivated when it's 106. I know what it's like being about 30 miles away. when it get's to 100 outside it's 95 in the shop it's time to find the AC. Stay safe Frank

I don't have AC in the shop, but I do have it in the house.

Hey! Check this out. Kustomrama's top 21 Barris Kustoms of the 1950s. I saw it first on Facebook, and then here on the Hamb yesterday. The big mind blow is Jesse's creation came in number 1! I wish he could have seen this before he left us, but what a moment. IMG_1320.jpg IMG_1321.jpg

Well, I'm trying to keep this as accurate/authentic looking as possible, you know that. On the wheel/tire/hubcap deal it's the same. I tried to see if I could find a lathe that I could use without success.
As with the need to consistently drill straight holes in those dash knobs awhile back I went out and bought a Harbor Freight drill press. It was just under $1oo.oom It worked great, and I still have it.
So, I saw a lathe on their website for $300.00, and bought it. I can report that it has worked great. IMG_1332.jpg

[/ATTACH] IMG_1233 (1).jpg IMG_1234 (1).jpg IMG_1236.jpg Well, AT&T has been laying cable in my neighborhood, and they finally came to my street. So I'm about 3 days late, this should catch us up.

  24. Holy smokes, I haven't been on the HAMB a whole lot lately and I haven't checked in here in... well, way too long. Amazing to see the adventure continues and what an adventure. Life would be boring if the road was always straight and smooth.

That sign board is coming together extremely well. You're a man of many talents Jer.

If the JCC insists on poking its IMG_1333 (1).jpg nose into everything, then we have to start here.
