Cool bumper, but it looks a bit out of place on a T pickup. It might look a little more at home on a later "round" car.
You could make a nice one from a piece of four inch angle then curve the ends. Had a 36 Chevy pick up with a bumper made from angle then charmed. Made a nice looking useable bumper
As a T owner I would pass that one on to a more suitable home. While running no bumper has a look I trust some dolt to be thinking of anything but stopping. My 24 Tudor came to me with after market iron, front and rear. The front ( 45 lbs of iron ) stays in the garage. The rear gives me peace of mind. "Pity the fool, who" flunks the safe driver test. BTW I found a reprint of the ad for Them: $15, Shipping wt 100 lbs
I like the bumper, 40's bumpers on earlier cars was a popular thing to do in the early 50's. I fee like it needs the right set of tail lights to make it all work together though, as-is the bumper looks pretty heavy on the back of the truck.
I just bolted it on for looks. But I was thinking of cutting the straight section out and just bolt on the curves. And it’s a steel bumper. Think 1971 Camaro bumperts Thanks Jerry
Can ya post a pic of the whole car ?? May give a better perspective My first thought was to cut the tops off the left and right pieces so the bumper was the same height as the middle Ricky.
At present I vote absolutely no. It appears to off a very small car. Cool bumper though. What does the whole car look like?
I will take a picture of the car. I’m just asking for different ideas. Ultimately it’s up to me but I love the input. Thanks Jerry
I like the bumper but not on this truck. looks out of place to me. now if you would stretch it out and tuck it in where the curved part of the bumper actually fits into/onto the rear fenders then I might but you definately have to finish customizing the rest of it otherwise it still will look out of place to me. Just like it is now, nope. but it is your chose.
I’m thinking it would look better on a 40’s or 50’s truck than a 20’s or 30’s one. A smaller, thinner bumper would be more at home on that truck.
It doesn't go with the flow of the vehicle. Looks too much like "Art Deco" and is out of place. The turned up ends look odd. Just for the heck of it, see how it looks upside down.
It looks like (by the color of the license plate) your in Ca? If so and you’re near by me, I’ve a late 30’s, early 40’s Ford set of bumpers that you could borrow to mock up and get a different look.
It's a cool bumper, and I wouldn't ruin it by chopping it up. It doesn't look right on that truck, and even as bumperettes it wont look good. I'd set it aside and maybe use it for another build, or sell it to someone whose got a car it will fit on better.
Ok I think you all made good arguments. I was on the fence. I just need more options. I think I will take it off . thanks Jerry
