Was that car raced at Bonneville painted blue and white before it was restored. I remember a car being raced in the mid 90's that looked like that. The shape was the obvious inspiration for many to follow being built by the Rolling Bones. A very special car.
@krylon32 Here's when Jim Travis raced it. He first acquired it in 1970 from John Moxley and raced it into the 90s with first a flathead and then it was powered by a SBC. He set an unblown record with the flathead at Bonneville going 142.999. When Moxley had it it had a Hemi. I'm not sure what kind of numbers he put up when he had it. After all of these years of seeing this car and having seeing it in person, I've never noticed how the rear window appears to be sunken in when it was chopped.

hidden as in not where you would expect it to be. The cars around it aren't hot rods and the gent who restored and owns it isn't usually known as a hot rodder. I don't know the particulars on the upstairs museum but would bet that it is far better known among the folks in sports car racing brigade than among hot rodders. The car may pretty well go unnoticed by the sporty car bunch who stand and look at and study some of those race cars you see behind it while discussing their history.
