I’m bringing the coupe to a show for the first time in five years. Heading to The Gathering at the Roc, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Put a pair of new Firestone bias-ply on the front Those ribbed dirt tires were bald at 6000 miles 9B0094EB-3750-4CC1-BD64-2074B9343D17.jpeg Got to visit my son today at Girard, KS. Did a little work on the coupe. Took it for a spin. I needed something to put a smile on my face, and this thing always delivers. Had a nice open two lane blacktop to stomp on it. ‘Ol Blackie can really haul. . . the mail.

My new radiator overflow tank works great. It’s a finely engineered system.

The radiator will boil over into Falstaff can, almost to the top, then suck it back up. Took some thorough engineering calculations to sort out the 16 ounce perfect size.

I think this thing would look better with a change to the wheels. The black on black on black is a bit much for me. I would like chrome steelies or Troq Thrust. Paint is the easy choice. What do you think? I will probably post on the photoshop thread.

Some chrome 40’ ford steelie wheels with no caps would be a cool set to swap in on occasion. Mine are from wheel smith via speedway and love ‘em.

i made sure ever car in the garage has got the same bolt pattern now I’ve got lots of different wheels I can play around with if the mood strikes

  7. That car is bitchen. Just drive it.

Your car has a great 50s to 60s flavor (BTW Falstaff name started in early 1900s - I Googled it). Try to maintain that if you change wheels.

    Great looking coupe.

The engine a a 1962 327 Chev, so that’s my date cutoff. Torq Trusts came out in 62, so they are a viable option. I probably won’t be changing much before the show. Might pop on a set trim rings? That’s the kind of quick, easy, cheap change I can handle.

I agree with the trim ring idea...especially with black rims. They will help define the rim from the tire.

American wheels only if they are real magnesium. Otherwise I like the chrome 40 steelies idea.

  18. I think this car could pull off wide whitewalls and full covers, say 1956 Olds?

  22. I've got a 29 coupe waiting to be built, and when I do, I want it to look just like this! I love the full fender black-on-black look.

Yes get rid of the black wheels. Black on black is not good.

Yeah, when I walked around and saw it I knew: outstanding. I didn’t hear the history on that one, but it looked like it won a major show in 1958, then put in storage till last week.
