    above,

I like it, because I can imagine it with a hood, but Kustoms need hoods and they need to be closed. Nobody wants to see skull air cleaner thingys.

  7. The last truly original take on an early Merc.... A very underappreciated custom these days.

Maybe it was under construction at the time and it's finished now.

I also just noticed the car way in the background. Isn't that the Hannibal Twin 8 from The Great Race?

It's an old build, I'll look up the info on it to be accurate and correct my post unless someone beats me to it ... But if I recall, it's a GM roof from one of the first year hardtop BelAirs, say 49-52 Chevy, or the similar GM Make/Model.

EDIT- I was wrong! The top is from a first year hardtop for the Ford Shoeboxes, A '51 Victoria, the band of stainless across the top of the rear glass should have been my first clue. I couldn't recall the name of the car and tried to search for "dirty bird". I was wrong about that too!

Search for "Goonie Bird Ford Custom" That'll get you all the info.

Thanks for posting the pics. I've been watching updates on IG. Steve Santos is knocking this one out of the park.

Looks similar to the Hudson Step Down pickup(Ute) of which only one was manufactured as a prototype but no actual production. Some clones have been done but not factory.
This one is a Holden EH 1964 with some custom front work but the year is stock. I have never seen that car before and looks like a New South Wales rego plate. They came only with an inline 6 but many have had V8 conversions.
