My wife shot this little vid of me rolling the roadster up the drive on it's very first drive. It sounds great, I feel really, really good about it.
If you haven't followed the build over the last two years, it's a '52 DeSoto Hemi (pulled from out '52 wagon for a powertrain upgrade), a 'glass '29 body from my friend Jeff Miller (Miller's Garage), '32 chassis, Ford 8", Super Bell 4" axle, and a bunch of swap meet and eBay stuff all wrapped up in one tiny little blue package.
We'll be at "Relix Riot" this weekend with it and the wagon, which was my goal.

  14. Years ago, I built a similar car with a Dodge 241 hemi. Looked cool, sounded cool. That engine had 120 hp. factory rated. Not very fast. LOL. Your car looks real good. I hope your trip is without issues. :)

I checked on it yesterday, it's still patiently waiting and told me there's no hurry. That car and I have an open relationship. It doesn't car that I see other cars. :p

That blue was always my favorite crayon color.

Such a cool choice of engine for a hot rod. Can imagine what one would put into the 52 wagon for an upgrade unless it was another hemi.

It was indeed another hemi. Much bigger. Much better, but we can't talk about that engine here. ;) I thought I'd sell this little one to some wide-eyed hot rodder, but got only offers at scrap value. So I kept it and pretty soon roadster parts started finding me.

The lowest 241 hp I know of was 140 to 701 1954 Indy pace cars that were fitted with Offenhauser manifolds and WCFBs at 170 hp a 30 hp jump over the 54 2 barrel.

  29. Sunbeam, that was 1985 when I did that car. I don't know if that was the info I had or another memory failure. :)
